'My point of view' by writer-director Madhureeta Anand

Writer-director Madhureeta Anand shares her experience of making her first film, 'Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye.' In her first webisode, she talks about film-making as her passion and her humble beginning...

They say that human suffering takes place at three levels – psychic, emotional and physical. They also say that we hardly ever suffer on all three levels at the same time. But, in my view, making a film, is a suffering - Totale. Pleasurable, intoxicating, full of passion but suffering all the time.

When I started making Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye, I was no green horn; I had made scores of documentaries, travelled the world and ran a pretty successful production house in Delhi. My confidence was further boosted by the fact that I had managed to write a script and get the funding for making the film entirely on my own steam – I did not know anyone in Mumbai, I had never assisted anyone and was not from the “industry”.

But nothing in the world could have prepared me for the actual hardship of making a commercial feature film and that too in Mumbai...
