Kal Kissne Dekha: First day, first show
And shoot starts. 18th June’08. Kal Kisne Dekha. Oops… Mrs. Vashu Bhagnani (Puja ji) suggested new spelling. And that is Kal Kissne Dekha.
We all are getting down from this strange hotel called Pemburi Plaza.
Smallest rooms in the world and bathroom were so tiny that a person would find it difficult to get in. Johny Lal our cameraman and my assistant Khyati who are a little on the heavier side had the toughest time getting into these bathrooms. Ha ha…
Who told you film-making is a picnic? Who told you that you would get a chance to travel around the world? God! I still remember the chill. It was so cold. Call time was set. Unit has to leave at 6 AM. Means, 5 AM everybody has to wake up. Vaishali, her mom and I were coming in the same car…
And aunty ji suddenly realises that her baby doll Vaishali has not had break fast. Pehle din shooting ke naam se logo ki bhookh mar jaati hai and mother and daughter disappeared to have break fast. And this director, who is so dead punctual, is getting irritated that her heroine has made him wait in the car with three more people for break fast.
Anyway, finally the car moves and we reach our location, Witts University. Jacky comes half an hour late. The new comers get firing from me for not being attentive and taking it easy. I warned them that it’s the first time I am letting them go. Next time on they have to be alert and punctual.
‘Yes sir J,’ they said. Vaishali said sorry to me. Johny sir and I started arranging the shot. Actors have gone to change. I am supposed to shoot a dream sequence. Jacky is nervous…
Viashali’s make-up team has not come. The main make-up artist ditched. So, his assistants are doing her make-up.
I asked angrily, “Who took this decision?” Jacky replied, “Sir, Ojas will join us from 25th. These kids have decided on their own. Kamaal hai.
Heroine of the film has no proper make-up team. Uff. Nobody asked or informed me. Anyway, we arrange a shot. Track camera trolley has some problem. It’s not smooth.
