Natarang is about a farmer Guna Kagalkar (Atul Kulkarni), who is also a village wrestler with bulging muscles. He lives with his wife (Vibhavari Deshpande) and children along with his old father (Yakoob Sayeed).
He is passionate about ‘Tamasha’ a Maharashtrian dance form with ‘Lavnis’ (seductive songs). His ultimate dream is to play a king’s role in ‘Tamasha’ and so he gathers a team of unemployed friends of the village and starts his own. He has to face difficulties to make it happen, as he himself plays the role of ‘Nachya.’
Eventually, he has to lose his wife because of the ‘Tamasha.’ ‘Natarang’ is threaded around local politics, competition between various ‘Tamasha’ troupes, gay artistes, etc.
Direction 
Ad filmmaker Ravi Jadhav’s first movie as a director is very nicely done. Adapted from Dr. Anand Jadhav’s classic novel, he has done it with perfection.
Music/Lyrics 
The music of the movie has been widely acknowledged. Ajay - Atul have given some great tracks on the lyrics by Guru Thakur.
Performances
Atul Kulkarni is the star. He has given a great performance in the movie. He is ably supported by Vibhavari Deshpande, Kishor Kadam, Sandesh Jadhav, Milind Shinde, Priya Berde and others.
OyeG Verdict
Do watch Natarang, it's a good movie with a good story and some fantastic performances. A movie like this comes rarely, so don't miss it.
