‘Harishchandrachi Factory' is brilliant

Director: Paresh Mokashi

Starring: Nandu Madhav , Vibhawari Deshpande

OyeG Review

Dadasaheb Phalke relives with ‘Harishchandrachi Factory.’ It is an amazing portrayal of the father of the Indian cinema, Dadasaheb Phalke, who made the first Indian movie ever inspite of numerous hardships and challenges. Dadasaheb Phalke (Nandu Madhav) leaves a well established printing business after a spat with his business partner. He decides not to enter the same business again. One day he accidentally comes across a theatre screening a silent motion picture. With his wife and two children, he makes the first Indian feature film, 'Raja Harishchandra.' Dadasaheb then turns down every offer from the foreign lands to get establish Indian film industry.

Direction/Story

Paresh Mokashi never made the movie as a tale of distress of the father of the Indian cinema. He has done the job with great excellence and perfectly in the way as one would want to see a film on the birth of the Indian cinema.

Performances

Nandu Madhav has been terrific in portraying Dadasaheb Phalke with an extreme ease and confidence. Vibhawari Deshpande as the wife of Dadasaheb has been really good. The support cast has also done a fantastic job.

OyeG Verdict

Watch it to see Dadasaheb Phalke, and his life to bring cinema to India. There are some fantastic performances, and the direction, screenplay and story, all have been done with perfection.
