The rendezvous with Simi that didn't happen
Earlier this month, we reported that the beautiful actress-host Simi Garewal would be re-appearing on the big screen to reprise her role as a talk show host on ShortKut. Arshad Warsi, who plays a Bollywood superstar in the movie is supposed to go on the show and chat her up. However, it now looks as though we will not get to see Simi on the big screen at all, but we can bring the grand dame back home with us. Yes, the scene was cut out of the final edit of the movie to keep the length of the movie at a perfect parameter.
The filmmakers did not want the final running time of the movie to go over the length an ideally succinct comedy movie is, so they decided to cut this scene out. Had it been retained, Ms. Garewal would have re-appeared on the silver screen after two decades. Her last feature was her own directorial debut Rukhsat. The ShortKut scene will be found in her DVD print of the movie.
